May 2009 - Motion passed at Stirling Council (and they are setting up a more formal group).

Motion for council Thursday 21st May : "Today Stirling Council sends a public message of solidarity to everyone living within the Shu'fat Refugee Camp and recognises the International Court of Justice declaration that the construction of a wall by the Government of Israel that divides Palestinian territories is "contrary to international law" and "increases difficulties for the population concerned regarding access to health services, educational establishments and primary sources of water."

This council resolves to develop a friendship link with the Shu'fat refugee camp in East Jerusalem, in order to help and support the people living there, along with other partner agencies with in Stirling. Stirling council instructs officers to investigate ways in which we can help to improve the lives of people living in the camp."

Motion proposed by Cllr Colin Finlay
