Art

Artists for Gaza. "We are a recently formed organisation based in Edinburgh. In the last 3 months we have organised three events that have raised almost £10,000 for MAP (Medical Aid for Palestinians). One of our main campaigns is to twin Edinburgh with Gaza in order to create a sense of solidarity between Scotland and Palestine, and to help establish a network of exchange between the 2 cities. www.artistsforgaza.com

London Arts School. University of the Arts, Central St Martins. London. "We wanted to set up a dialogue with art students over there sharing classes, sending resources and maybe doing collaborative work." Contact

Jerusalem Capital of Arab Culture 2009 visit www.alquds2009.org. The Midlands Palestinian Community Association is celebrating the choice of Jerusalem as capital of Arab Culture at 7.30pm on the 10th of July in Birmingham. This evening of cultural solidarity with the future capital of Palestine will feature musicians and writers from Birmingham and Alzaytouna Nottingham Dabka Group. We hope to raise funds to support a Palestinian charity or organisation that works to maintain and enrich the Palestinian Arab identity of Jerusalem. This should be a truly memorable night. Book your tickets early to avoid disappointment, especially if you are travelling from outside Birmingham either online at www.the-drum.co.uk or by telephone on 0121 3332444. The tickets are £9 if you are in work or £6 if you are not.

Disabled groups

Judith from Lancs is looking for information on disability groups in Palestine.

"I am on a disability activists research list. Please let me know if you know of any disabled led and controlled Palestian groups in Palestine. I think it would be of use and interest to post stuff up on that international list for activists to make links and support Palestianian disabled people/organisations." You can contact Judith Stevenson here; judithstephenson at fsmail.net

Have you filled in the questionnaire? If your group has not already done so, or is new and wishes to join the Twinning network, please download it here, and return it us as soon as possible (we need it for the next Conference).
